In the context of economic development, Guinea-Bissau is open for Hungary and neighboring countries.
Our country offers investment opportunities in commercial sectors in the agricultural industry and in construction.
The tasks of the Hungarian Cultural Centre office is to coordinate trade and business connections facilitating business agreements, provide logistical support contracts in export and import, administration of transport and shipping, if necessary, according to the order of the contractors solve the air transport of goods.
Currently, in Guinea Bissau and in the surrounding countries there are shortages of meat commodities and whose prices, therefore, are very high compared to the living standard there. Our goal is to establish plants and factories which are able to meet the local demand and that of other Western African countries.
Fish is the everyday food of the population in Guinea Bissau as that is the cheapest nourishment to be had. Although it is a country by the ocean with lots of rivers, yet fisheries are unable to fulfill the immense demand. We have an objective to establish non-marine breeding stations with processing plants with cold stores and depositories.
Currently there is no large-scale production present in the country. The families grow crops for their own consumption; all work is done under their own hands and without automation. Therefore over 50% of the consumables ensues from import, resulting in high prices. It is our aim to launch large-scale production of: rice, maize, sugar cane and groundnut. To do that, we need high-performance agricultural tractors and mechanized harvesters. In order to process basic commodity and to store we need factories and depositories.
We are planning to be marketed and exported to Europe:
- oil and bio eating fat made from palm seed;
- peanut oil, butter, biscuits, soap;
- vegetables and fruits;
- sea and river fish, crabs, prawns
- canned food made from fruits, soft drinks, juices;
- dried tea leaves, herbs;
- Bio sugar and other products made from sugar cane… etc
